The Legend Retires

Best wishes to the one and only Johnsie Ryan, who retired last weekend from the pub business after over 50 years of superb bar work all over Ireland and America. He had a great policy of not keeping good drink but of selling it! Certainly not a fan of the mobile phones behind the bar, a believer in keeping his customers entertained so that they would not slip off elsewhere. Johnsie said a few times his main reason for being in the bar business was because There's good olde profit in the drink. He gave great entertainment to his customers and was a great man for always telling the truth. Enjoy your retirement and best wishes for the future is the wish of all your friends in Cappawhite.

Party Supreme

The Annual Daycare dinner was held in the Resource Centre on Wed 13th Dec and what a party it was. Mass at 11am followed by the wonderful Nativity Play from Cappa National School. Party next at 1pm and what a beautiful meal, compliments to the chefs and indeed the staff were on their toes, they seemed like they were on skates serving 109 people. After the meal and drinks, the party really started with music supplied by the great Fran Curry and of course the singing star Trudi Lalor. There were dozens of spots and a big raffle, congrats to Mary, volunteers and staff who put them together, even Santa was there all the way from The Cresent. The evening ended at 5pm with tea and sandwiches and all kinds of mince pies, Christmas cakes and cup-cakes. Now are you not sorry you were not there!!
